This year's whole school curriculum project has been centered around the book, "What We'll Build." This has been much enjoyed by the children and has been a great tool to help them settle back into their school routine.
Our new Vending Machine has arrived!!
We’re really excited that our reading book vending machine was delivered this week. Thank you to everyone who took part in our Easter reading challenge, which helped us fund this resource. Our Reading Ambassadors helped Miss Mitchell to add a selection of books to the machine. We can’t wait to start handing out golden tokens.
New Foundation 21-22
Our Foundation children started their Abacus Adventure on Friday 10th September and we are so proud with how they have adapted to school life during their first full week in school.
Year 6 visited PGL for their Residential Trip
We are all so proud of the children and how they have shown resilience, overcome fears and developed new skills.
Year 4 Visited Colchester Zoo
The children had a great day as part of their Rainforest topic. They enjoyed a talk about Rainforests and learnt about the four layers. They also had the opportunity to hold a number of insects.

Year 2 performed their Harvest Festival
We held our first Poetry Slams of this academic year. The poems were all linked to this terms topic. Sue ( manager) and Caroline (Wellbeing lead) came and judged our performances. They had a really hard decision because everyone was so good. Our judges were impressed with the confidence that all the children showed.
Silver class won the KS2 slam with a poem about Greece and Red Class won the KS1 slam with a poem about dragons.
On Monday 1st November 2021 and Tuesday 2nd November 2021, all classes had the opportunity to take part in a Bollywood dancing workshop as part of our Diwali celebrations. The children enjoyed learning a Bhangra dance routine.
Years 5 and 6 had a great time at the Science Museum on Wednesday 17/11/21 as part of their Space topic. They took part in a number of experiments when they explored the Wonderlab, where amongst other things, they saw the effect of liquid nitrogen on an egg, a bouncy ball, a jelly worm and a balloon.

We were blown away by all the entries and ideas for our Little inventors competition. Well done to Eleanor, Charlotte and Nathan. Our office ladies had a very difficult decision judging the top three ideas.

Mrs Grahame and I had the privilege of delivering the gifts before Christmas and the staff were overwhelmed with your generosity– I know these gifts meant so much to the residents on Christmas day as you can see by the pictures.

Mental Health Awareness Week
Mrs Tolley has been carrying out the RSPB Wild Challenge with the children at lunchtimes. It's a challenge that allows you to connect with the natural world in brave new ways - to reach out and touch it and meet it head-on, up-close, and personal. They have already completed Bronze and are working towards their next one!

A huge well done to our Year 6 children who approached their SAT's exams with maturity and we know they all put in 100%....we are so proud of you all!
