Circus Day 12/10/18
Our Circus day was a huge success! The children enjoyed watching and learning new circus skills. The outfits all looked amazing, thank you for all the effort that was made!
Also, a big thank you to FAPS for all of the organisation that went into the evening performance, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, we appreciate all the positive feedback!
Our Friendship benches
We are really enjoying sitting on our Friendship benches at lunchtimes and making new friends. Thank you to Our Anti Bullying Ambassadors who helped raise funds to buy these benches and to Mr Delve and Mr Shallcrass for helping to make them.
Our Pupil council have been talking about what we can do to improve the presentation of our school. We have introduced Litter Pickers during our midday breaks. Classes volunteer on a weekly basis. We have already seen a decrease in the amount of litter on the playground. The Wickford Wombles came and lead a whole school assembly all about the impact that litter, particularly plastic, can have on our environment.
20/11/18 Years 3 and 4 performed with Runwell School at Bromford's School to an audience of nearly 300 people.
Children sang collectively as a choir, as soloists and performed tricks throughout the evening.
When Pudsey came to visit Abacus!
The children had great fun meeting Pudsey when he came to visit them at school on Thursday 15th November, thank you for all of your donations, we raised £380.33 for Children In Need!!

We all enjoyed our Christmas lunches on 17/12/18 and 18/12/18. Thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff for such a delicious meal.
We had some special visitors on 18/12/18. Ulla and Tommy. We were told lots of interesting reindeer facts and even got to feed them.
Our Outdoor Library Book Stop
The children have really enjoyed sharing books during their play and lunchtime's over the last couple of weeks. Thank you to Miss Mitchell's dad for making our Outdoor Library Book Stop and to Mr Delve for painting it.
Well done to Charlotte, Amelia, Laurence and Matthew who came 2nd (out of 5 schools) in the Essex Maths competition held at North Crescent Primary School on Thursday this week. .
World Book Day 7/3/19
The children all looked amazing and it’s clear they all enjoyed dressing up.
Thank you to Miss Mitchell, our English leader for planning and organising the activities throughout the day. This included book swaps, classes reading to each other, a parade and Family Read. (Where an amazing 134 parents attended) Glee club opened our whole school assembly singing ‘A cover is not in a book’ from Mary Poppins returns.
