Reporting Illness at Abacus
If your child is unwell and cannot attend school please ring/text us before 8.55 a.m.
If we do not know why your child is absent they may be shown as having an unauthorised absence!
Some illnesses are contagious and children are not allowed in school until they are completely well.
Contagious illness include things like chicken pox, flu etc. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or refer to the guide below..
If your child is not well while in school we will contact you to collect them.
Please make sure that your contact details are up to date.
If your child has any allergies or requires treatment for a more serious ailment (i.e. diabetes) please make sure that we know about it.

Holiday Absence
As of the 1st September 2013, the Education Regulations were amended by the Department for Education, to now state
that a Headteacher may not grant any leave of absence during term time, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
If you wish to apply for Leave of Absence for your child, please complete the form below and return to the school office.
