Abacus School Admissions

Abacus Primary School is a popular school serving residents of Wickford.
The School regularly receives more applications than there are places available and children aren’t always successful in gaining a place for their child, even though they reside in the priority admissions area.

From September 2016, the number of pupils admitted to Abacus each academic year will be 60.

Essex County Council is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in Essex.

This means that the council sets the oversubscription criteria and makes the decisions as to which pupils are admitted to these schools.
